302 stainless steel has good plasticity, toughness and cold workability in solid solution state, good corrosion resistance in oxidizing acid, water, atmosphere and other media. After cold working, it has high strength but poor elongation than 301. However, the sensitized state or after welding has a tendency to intergranular corrosion, so it is not suitable for welding structural materials. It has good corrosion resistance to strong oxidizing acids, and alkaline solutions and most organic acids have certain corrosion resistance. Its corrosion resistance is inferior to stainless steel containing titanium and niobium and low-carbon 18-8 type.
